Once upon a time, the gods protected Luria... or so the old stories say.
Everything from music to agriculture was overseen by the gods, who nurtured their clerics and followers like their own children. When Lurians thrived, their gods praised them; when they starved, their gods fed them. Under the rule of the Elven Empire, the people prospered and flourished, paying tribute to the entities that gave them the power to do so.
But then one day, the gods simply vanished.
Centuries have passed since then. The elves have retreated into obscurity, and the humans have risen up to rule Luria in their place. The gods, once mighty and all-seeing, are now nothing more than a myth - a secret, passed down for generations.
Rumors have been spreading throughout Luria - rumors of some greater power brewing in the unknown, and of strange happenings across the land. According to whispers, Queen Callida Passerine has dispatched her grandson, First Prince Validian, on a strange quest... to find four Champions who are worthy of a deadly mission.
Validian's quest has brought him to the Isle of Mon Sera, a fortress that houses the most notorious prisoners in Luria. His motives for this journey are unclear, but one thing is certain:
He's not leaving the island without his Champions.
